Ryker turns 15 months

What I want to remember about this age! 

Ryker turned 15 months on the 19th! I can't believe he is so big, and since turning one his development has sky rocketed. He is doing so much! I remember thinking he was so fun around the time he turned one, but I think the age he is at now is my favorite.

He started walking the day after his first birthday.

He is into everything, and wants to know how they work, he is fascinated by wheels, taking lids off and trying to screw them back onto bottles. He likes to try and figure out how toys do what they do, and it’s really cute. We often joke he will become an engineer.

He is so active, and into everything, he likes getting out the Tupperware, and the lids, playing with his cat Roscoe, eating, napping, and playing outside in his pool. He also enjoys going on walks in his stroller, He likes books, and loves to be read to.

Recently he discovered shadows, and thinks that they are fascinating. He goes to the wall and tries to touch them, and he also tries to grab any light shadow or reflection. His speech is starting to develop more and more. He says "Cra" for Craker, and "dat" for that, " Sha" for shadow and "done" He also says "Mil" for Milk and knows "momma" "Dadda" and the sign for more, and all done.

Ryker is a total water baby, and loves his bath time, his blow-up pool, and the ocean, he also tries to play in any puddle he finds.

He loves his cats, and will pet, hug and give kisses to both of them and try to get them to play with toys.  Roscoe really enjoys Rykers attention, they're pretty good friends, Lincoln has warmed up to him, and tolerates him, but will run away when he has had enough.

He is finally, finally sleeping through the night again after a two-month sleep regression, and I’m so great full!

He is starting to understand what talking on the phone means, and he recognizes his grandparents, and his older/baby cousins.

He's starting to get cuddlier, and will give hugs and kisses now. He also comes and sits on our laps sometimes to read a book, or watch a movie.

He has 9 teeth, his 8-front top and bottom teeth, and one side molar

He weighs 22 lbs., and is 31 inches long (Half my height!) 

He is a good traveler, and loves people.

Rykers Grand Entrance: A Birth Story

Ryker’s Birth, is something that will forever be a memory I hold dear to me, regardless of how stressful things went, or how nothing went as I had hoped for. It was still one of the best days of my life, because in the end, we have a perfect baby boy. All I cared about was that my child be safe, and once we established that he was, then I was happy. His Grand Entrance As every first time mom does, I anticipated what labor would be like. In my mind I had done well to prepare for it, Mark and I had taken a Hypnobirthing course, and practiced our hypnobirthing relaxation scripts and breathing techniques. I had hired a doula (which is a birth coach) who I considered to be a good asset to our birthing team, she is in training to become a midwife, and has worked at a birth center and assisted with many un-medicated births. Danielle Becker Photography Newborn/Family photo shoot

While I was pregnant with Everly I thought about getting a photographer to take family/newborn pictures for us, since we had with Ryker, but since we didn't have extra spending money laying around ( graduate school does this to you) I wrote it off. Well luck would have it that we were gifted again- My friend Amy who has her own Photography business offered to take pictures for us for Ryker, which is honestly one of the best gifts I can think of - unless you need other things for your newborn baby of course!  Anyway, I was so excited about this, and asked around for a good photographer. We got several recommendations for Danielle Becker Photography in Pensacola FL so we decided to go with her.  I really wanted to go to a studio for the pictures, because I just didn't feel attached to our town home, and it seemed like it would be easier to do in a studio.  Danielles studio was beautiful! I was in awe. she  also had countless prompts, swaddles and bows....
