39 Week Maternity Pictures

A few weeks back, during all the excitement of school ending, finals, etc... Etc... I asked my sweet friend Leah if she would want to take some maternity pictures for me. It took us a few weeks to actually get it planned, but we did it, and I'm so glad we did! I loved spending time with Leah, her husband and their sweet little girl Lily. I'm also really happy with how she captured my 39 week pregnant baby bump! These may be the last pictures I get taken with this belly, just depending if my little guy decides to stay in past his due date or not.

Pregnancy is interesting; I've talked about some of my feelings regarding my ever rounder, changing shape everything has gotten a little bit bigger. It’s not always easy to look at yourself and think "I'm so beautiful", even though I truly love my belly, by 39 weeks you feel so big, and for me kind of swollen. I almost said let’s just forget taking the pictures, but I’m so glad I didn’t do that. I think these will be pictures I look back on and marvel at. I love my baby bump. Even if at times I feel kind of like a foreigner looking at myself.

Taking the maternity pictures was good for me because I felt like I was able to feel beautiful and the pictures helped me put myself into perspective. Keeping a positive body image throughout pregnancy has been something I’ve had to constantly work on. I was able to work out through my entire pregnancy, and still go on almost daily walks ( I abandoned the gym around 37 weeks, it just got to hard) this helped me with my body image so, so, so much. Still there are times you will just look at yourself, and think “oh my hell, I’m huge!” 

I have always thought pregnant women were beautiful, and most the time during my pregnancy I felt special to be able to carry this little human inside my body. If this, for some reason, ends up being my only chance at carrying a baby, I will be forever grateful for having captured parts of it, and I will cherish these pictures. It will also be fun to show Ryker, when he’s older that he was once inside my body.

I have no idea what this little man is going to look like, but look how handsome his dad is? I love, love, love this picture of us!

Ryker’s Birth, is something that will forever be a memory I hold dear to me, regardless of how stressful things went, or how nothing went as I had hoped for. It was still one of the best days of my life, because in the end, we have a perfect baby boy. All I cared about was that my child be safe, and once we established that he was, then I was happy. Danielle Becker Photography Newborn/Family photo shoot

While I was pregnant with Everly I thought about getting a photographer to take family/newborn pictures for us, since we had with Ryker, but since we didn't have extra spending money laying around ( graduate school does this to you) I wrote it off. Well luck would have it that we were gifted again- My friend Amy who has her own Photography business offered to take pictures for us for Ryker, which is honestly one of the best gifts I can think of - unless you need other things for your newborn baby of course!  Anyway, I was so excited about this, and asked around for a good photographer. We got several recommendations for Danielle Becker Photography in Pensacola FL so we decided to go with her.  I really wanted to go to a studio for the pictures, because I just didn't feel attached to our town home, and it seemed like it would be easier to do in a studio.  Danielles studio was beautiful!
