2.5 Years and a Pregnancy Update
Mark and me won a free photo shoot from one of my long time, high school best-friends, who is now a professional Photographer.
Amy, at Amyeliseallen Photography (http://amyeliseallenphotography.com/) does such good work, and we've loved all the pictures she has done for us in the past, so I was more than thrilled when we won the give away! plus, we skipped a 2 year family photo, and this year has been really good to us, the only one missing in the pictures is Lincoln, but maybe we can get him in the Christmas card for this year!
As usual, I love, love, love the pictures! We went up Hobble Creek Canyon in Springville and took advantage of the beautiful fall colors. It was so fun, we pretty much laughed the whole time.
These pictures are extra meaningful to me, because I was 6 weeks pregnant in them. These are some of my favorites from the photo shoot!

Amy also took some pregnancy announcement pictures for us when my little bump was just making an appearance. I also love these pictures!

Pregnancy so Far...
Before we had started trying to have a baby, I prayed regularly that I would be able to finish my semester in school, if we got pregnant during school, and graduate. My mom had horrible morning sickness until she was 6 months pregnant, and had to quit her job, so I was really worried about this.It may sound dumb then, that we were trying to get pregnant, knowing that school might have been compromised, but I was sure the timing was right, and I felt good about it so we went ahead with our plan anyways.
luckily for me, I felt that my prayers were answered, because i'm one of those hated women who didn't suffer from morning sickness really at all. besides a couple nausea spells, feeling a bit more tired, and having food aversions, it was really not bad. I actually had to reassure myself that my pregnancy was going normal, by if my boobs were sore, and how much I was peeing. Maybe TMI. I feel so bad for the ladies who suffer through those twelve weeks, but i'm incredibly thankful that I didn't because i'm sure I wouldn't have passed my classes if I had been seriously ill.
I have been able to work out consistently since I found out, and have been trying to go 3-4 times a week, I haven't really been running much since i'm really slow now, and it's gotten pretty chilly, but I've loved it when I do run. Eating on the other hand, has been a struggle. I really need to work on my nutrition. During the summer when we had our garden we were eating really, really healthy, but lately I have not been doing my best, and I know it's more important than ever to be eating healthy, so i'm actively trying to work on that.
- As for exercise, I've been doing this workout two to three times a week http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/lifting-for-two-nicole-moneer-full-body-pregnancy-workout.html,this link is to the workout, and the video is a glimpse of what the workout looks like. I've really enjoyed it, on days I just don't feel up for all of it, i'll use half of the workout to do half my body, and try to do the whole thing once a week. Modifying as I need to of course.
- I've also been trying to run at least a mile before doing my workout, and I have a goal to do 30 minutes at least of exercise a day. I'm really trying to focus on strength to help aid me for labor. I like to have a goal, and something to train for, so I'm training for labor if that's even possible!
- Since I've entered my second trimester, I have felt completely back to normal. My food aversions, for the most part have gone away, except for Betos beans, and i'm feeling good.
- A few things I've noticed, I can't drink enough water. I'm always thirsty, and I wake up and have to drink a big glass of water. I also pee every 30 minutes if I drink water.
- I have to take it easy during my workouts, my blood volume is higher and my blood pressure is lower and I get winded a lot easier than before. Since i'm competitive with myself, it's been a learning experience, and i'm adjusting as I need to.
- I sleep 9 hours a night, and if I don't i am tired the whole next day. I have also noticed that i have very vivid, scary dreams. I actually had to kill someone in one of my dreams, it was very violent and disturbing.
- My boobs are also significantly bigger, and so is my belly- at 15 weeks, I feel like i'm starting to look pregnant.
- I think I may have felt some movement too, but it's hard to know
Just as a side note, I had a dream that I released a little girl fairy spirit into my room. I was holding her in my hand, and after i opened my hand I woke up, because I swore I felt something go down the sheet. Like a mouse. It was really scary, weird. but because of this dream I think were having a girl. Mark and my mom are pretty set it's a boy though.
Speaking of which, we find out next week what were having!
Were very fortunate, and lucky to be able to have a baby, and i'm so grateful that things are going well so far.
