Baby Girl Pregnancy update, belly pictures, and cute Ryker
I’m so bad at updating my
blog, and I realized I haven’t posted once about this pregnancy, and I did
frequent updates with Ryker’s, so here is a pregnancy update for anyone who
cares.
I found out I was pregnant with
baby number two, just two days before Father’s Day. I had expected it to take a
couple of months, but I wasn’t surprised when we found out right away that we
were expecting. I had been baby hungry since Ryker was 4 months. I just knew
there was another baby that was supposed to join our family. I told Mark that
same day, because I was too anxious and to excited to not tell him, plus we had
celebrated Father’s Day with a trip to Waikoloa Springs in Tallahassee the
weekend before, and it was fun.

Mark was excited, although
it took him a minute to see the very faint positive on the test (which I have a
trained eye for?! Ha-ha) We celebrated with a big dinner.

Around week six I got sick
with tonsillitis and after that I felt nauseated and tired at least half of the
day. It seemed to get a little better around 3-5 in the afternoon, and I had a
little burst of energy then. Kind of strange, but I was happy about it too.

| We were both pretty sick. I think got Tonsillitis and then gave it to me. Poor kiddo |
My nausea, food aversions/
smell aversions and weird/intense food cravings seemed worse this time around,
luckily around week 11 I started to feel a lot better, and had some energy
return. I had continued to try and workout or go walk during my first
trimester, but it was inconsistent, and sometimes I’d get halfway through a BBG
workout, or 21-day fix and must turn it off because I felt like I was going to
throw up.
My cute workout buddy
I’m so happy that I was
feeling good when both of my parents came to visit, it made both trips fun, and
I could enjoy myself.
I started this pregnancy out
at 118 lbs., which was about the same as I was with Ryker’s pregnancy, and so
far at 19 weeks I’ve gained about 8 lbs., I gained 1 lb. in my first trimester,
and then about a lb. a week since. My midwife said this is healthy and normal,
and I should expect to gain a lb. a week starting in my second trimester.

My 8 week belly pics, I was already starting to look a little thicker.
I’m doing the #Goodfortheswole
pre-and post-partum pregnancy workout. It is based around HIIT workouts and I do
circuits, and use weights. I really like that the woman who made the workout
guide is a certified personal trainer, and she got her pre-and post-partum personal
training certification so that she could do pregnancy safe workouts. I also
love that she shared her workouts with other people for an affordable price. I
only paid 20$ for a lot of good workouts that are tailored by Trimester. I’m
loving them so far too, and It helps me feel good and this little girl wiggles
around while I’m taking my breaks between circuits, so I think she likes the
workouts too!
The times I get to go to they gym are so nice. 19 weeks, and baby girl was wiggling around during my wrest periods. I like to think she was having a good time.

My placenta is anterior
this time, so I have been feeling movements from the baby since around 12
weeks, now at almost 20 weeks (19 and 6 days) I feel them every day almost.
Mark has even felt her kicks, he couldn’t do this with Ryker until 23 weeks
because Ryker’s placenta was posterior. It makes a huge difference.
We got my birth notes sent
to my Midwife, and she was pretty in awe of what had happened. I’m glad we did
get them sent to her though, because she realized that the severity of my
cervical tear was something that needed to be checked out weekly, until 22
weeks to make sure I didn’t have cervical incompetence, which I guess can
happen. So far everything looks good. Because we are checking my cervix every
week I’ve gotten to see little miss a ton! In fact, we have seen her at every
single appointment we’ve gone to.
SO, one thing that is very
different with this pregnancy from Ryker’s is the peace I have felt. As I
mentioned earlier I had been so baby hungry, and when we got
pregnant fast, I kind of had a feeling that this was the baby I had been
hungering for. I didn’t know it was a girl yet, I was actually pretty sure we would have another boy, but I knew that this little
person was supposed to join our family, and my anxiety was low as far as her
health was concerned. With Ryker, I was anxious until his anatomy scan, and
maybe part of that was because we thought he had an amniotic band, which would
have been serious.
With this little one, at our
12-week appointment they couldn’t find her heartbeat, and I was incredibly calm
about it all. Like I said though, I had thought that I felt movements, so our
midwife, who I really like, was really calm and she went and got an ultrasound
machine and sure enough there was our baby just rolling around like a maniac. Kicking,
and dancing. It made me tear up to see how perfect her little body was at that
stage of pregnancy.

| 12 weeks of perfection. From peanut to baby, they develop so fast, it is incredible! |

I felt content to wait until 14 weeks to announce this little one. Were so excited though! so,so,so excited!!!
Ryker playing at chick-fila, on my birthday. He is so little here, I can't believe how fast he is growing. His speech progress is impressive. He says Brown Bear, Balloon, Cracker, Shadow (Sha!), Momma, Dadda, Bye, Granola bar (Graola Bar very jumbled, but he tries), Hashbrowns (Ha-brown), Water (Waer), Grandpa (papa), and Night night/ Nap Nap (nigh-nigh/na- na) He also knows almost all of his farm animals sounds, and monkey and elephant.

The next appointment we had
was at almost 17 weeks, and that’s when we started checking my cervix, she had
originally mis-measured my cervix, so I got a phone call a day later saying we
needed to come in and have the ultrasound tech measure to make sure the reading
was accurate, and if the numbers were the same as what my midwife got, I would
go to Maternal fetal, and then possibly get a cerclage. It wasn’t the best
news, but I guess in the back of my head I felt at peace, like okay, everything
is probably fine and it was just a wrong measurement.
Sure enough when the
ultrasound tech measured my cervix it looked great, and then she did my anatomy
scan too and baby girl looked great too. She was so stubborn and it took us
forever to find her gender! She did not want to unfold her legs, and we had to
poke and prod her a bit! I had thought
for a while that the baby was a boy, then I started to think it was a girl, so did Mark and a lot of my friends and
family. Of course, I was wrong with Ryker so I thought, well it will be a boy
and that will be fun too, but now that we know it’s a girl, I can’t imagine if
it had been a boy. I don’t think I would have been disappointed, but just a
little surprised.
So far, she has the same
long feet that Ryker and I have, but they look like they have more of an arch
which is good, and as weird as it sounds, the side profile of her face looks
different than Ryker’s to me. I’m so excited to see what she looks like.

Mark and I are still
undecided on a name. We have a few we like, but nothing that we are 100% sure
of. With Ryker, we kind of just knew. His name was the only boy name we both
really liked and Mark was set on it, so once we found out his gender we knew
what his full name would be.
I thought naming a boy was
hard, but we had a cute boy name picked out for another boy, yet another reason
I thought it would probably be a boy. I’m very sentimental about name meanings,
and honoring family, so I put a lot of thought into my kid’s names. I also don’t
want anything to unique or to popular. Although I’m realizing that people tend
to name their kids whatever these days and no one cares. Especially boy names
being used for girls, which some of them work, and some of them I’m just like “no,
that isn’t unisex at all”, but to each there own.
We announced to our families the gender using a little video with Ryker holding a balloon on it. He is so into balloons, and I thought it'd be a good way to get him to take interest in what we were doing. Of course, he is also busy, and curious, so seeing the ultrasound on the balloon, he naturally wanted to grab it off, then move onto something else. He's so fun right now and busy, and starting to say a lot of words. I love it, and I love him. I think he will have an adjustment period when his sister comes, but then he will love having a sibling, he is a really good natured little boy, and he likes other kids, and animals a ton!

We are thrilled to be having
a little girl, and February 21st is her due date, so that will be
good timing wise too, because I can help with some of the packing we will be
doing before we move to wherever Mark ends up getting a job. It’s all exciting!
I can’t believe I’m already half way through this pregnancy, it really has gone
by so quickly this time, and I’m sure some of that is because of Ryker.
