Animals and my childhood.

My Childhood was filled with stray animals wondering into my yard, sometimes injured or sick, and me doing my best to convince my parents to let me keep every single one of them. The list of animals included multiple cats, sick wild birds and a snake or two.I was a bleeding heart for any mammal or amphibian/ snake. I cherished my pets, and the relationship we had. I knew them and we were buddies.

These pets weren't just my friends, they were my family members. They kept me safe during my parents divorce, and I kept them safe from injuries and the tyranny of my little brother.I had a cat named Taz too. Him and Cocoa were best friends. They'd groom each other, Taz liked to clean Cocoas ears and sleep next to him. It was a really cute animal relationship. That cat was my saving grace during my parents divorce. He seemed like a little personal angel. He arrived when I needed him the most, and then disappeared when I was feeling happy again.

I'm just reflecting on how I need animals in my life. They bring me joy, and help me appreciate life more. I sometimes think we have so much to learn from them.
