Dear Future Babies

Hey you beautiful creations, you!

It's your mom, but from the past. You guys are still in my future, and if you are reading this it's in your present, my past etc.. you get the picture. Anyway, there are a few things in my life I've been thinking about. You know, the heavy type of stuff, things that are important to learn, which I think I'd like you to know.

Knowing me, which I think I do fairly well, I've already talked to you guys a little bit about some of this stuff- Heck, I'm a big talker, I might have really talked a lot about this stuff. Anyway, one day when you aren't teenagers, and you realize that some things parents say actually are true, you may reread this and appreciate our talks more. Supposing that I'm that mom who talks to her kids about everything. I hope I am.

So Here I Go

I want you guys to know if there is one thing in this whole entire world I could teach you, It would be to love yourself. Love your flaws, and realize you have them, and that everyone else does too. Love your face, your skin, your hair, the decisions you make- yes even the bad ones- just promise me you will learn from them, and stay away from the big bads, like doing drugs, and having babies when you are a baby your self.

Love Yourself

I mean this so whole hearted! I know it's a hard thing to do, it takes trial and error to grow up out of teenage land, and realize where your true morals and values lay, how you really feel, your opinions on life, what kind of people you want to surround your self with, these things can take years to figure out. I don't expect you to be perfect, or to never have a self loathing day- these happen, but remember to allow yourself to be okay with that. Bounce back, and be happy.

Another thing that I hope I've taught you well, and I hope sticks with you your whole life

is Self Respect, It's so so so IMPORTANT.

Self respect is the way you portray yourself to the world, it's determined by your actions and words, it's determined by the way you allow other people to treat you. When it comes to dating and relationship, this combined with self love will help you in so many ways.

I will do my VERY best to teach you about these things, to try and make sure you have good self esteem, and you don't give into the pressures society places on you- to both my future sons, and daughters, don't be foolish in relationships, don't fall into the trap that someone loves you because of the way you look, or the amount of physical attention you give them.

Respect your self enough to know if another person isn't committed to you, and they are quick to walk away, then the relationship isn't worth your time. Don't let other people manipulate your emotions. Set a standard for your self, and rules that can't be broken in relationships, then keep them. I hope I've raised you well enough to know, that no boy, or girl is worth your sanity, high anxiety levels, or heart breaks that take years to mend. Respect yourself enough to not go against your own better judgment. If a person really loves you, you won't have to wonder about it.

As a side note, remember loving yourself and respecting yourself are two important things to do towards other people too. The ability to love other people unselfishly will bless your life. Respecting life and acknowledging that every life has some meaning, will too.

I haven't met you yet, and I hope I get to in a few years from now, well at least one of you, but Just know that even though we will have our parent child sprawls, I will always love you.

Gosh I can't even imagine how much I will love you. I'm sure the love I have for you will be overwhelming. Anyways I will do my best to teach you these things, it's taken me years to master them, and hopefully through good examples form Dad and me you will pick up on them quicker.
